Summary/Abstract: The following article is an attempt to make a philosophical approach to the issue of home. It is nothing new and original. Such philosophers as Martin Heidegger and Jacques Baudrillard can be mentioned here. Our primary purpose is to present home understood as a microcosm. The first step is to analyse the concept of microcosm, and then to find its traces in what is defined as home – a place where man not only spends time, but lives. Therefore, we believe that it has a hidden meaning contained in its components. It is part of this world, something that cannot be removed. Belonging to this world it also belongs to me. It becomes the first, absolutely necessary step of entering the surrounding reality. Taking care of our home we take care of the world, and its proper understanding is a possibility to understand the world. When oversimplifying this awareness, we will always and every single time harm the environment. The whole of the discussion is aimed at showing a new perspective built with an ecophilosophical outline.
