Summary/Abstract: Corporate ethics in transitional Serbia have often been alleged to be rather poorly developed and have been marked by scandals. However, thus far there have been few comprehensive analyses or interpretations to explain business and corporate ethics in Serbia, nor has empirical research been conducted to explore the business morality of Serbian managers. Here I present results from explorative research about business morality among fifteen managers employed in private companies operating in Serbia. I elaborate a model of managerial ethics that serves as a conceptual framework to explore and interpret the most important research results. The results are also interpreted in the light of other analyses about the transformation of the economic elite in postsocialist Serbia.
