The crisis, politics and language strategies as conceptuation of the difficult economic situation in Catalania: the case of official speeches of Artur Mas in 2010-2011

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyse the official speeches delivered between 2010 and 2011 by the President of Catalan Government, Artur Mas, according to the strategies adopted to talk about the financial crisis and its consequences in the Catalan context. The goal is to capture the perception of these phenomena, which emerge from the linguistic mechanisms that have been used (especially, metaphors).
