Summary/Abstract: This article analyses rituals in general and rites of passage in particular as a type of ritual whose power of communication underlies the symbolic processes that are the basis of contemporary society. To this end, we emphasize the continuity of the rituals that have changed but have not disappeared, which have reinvented themselves, but which have retained the quality of binders in human relations, despite the mutations at the social level. In this age which might be called “an age with one hundred faces”, the rituals, by their constancy, reveal themselves as the cornerstones of communication.
