Summary/Abstract: While medicine is interested only in diagnosing the illness, and psychology concentrates on the psychological condition of the patient, every patient has the right to express their religious and spiritual needs, as religious care and spiritual communication complete medical care over the patient. The religious and communication dimension is especially important in the case of the terminally ill. Religious care and spiritual communication with the patient are elements of medical care. Such holistic view of the sick is an expression of care for their good in every dimension. A view of the human person in their integrity determines the holistic model of care. Its essence is the ability to meet the widest possible range of needs of the patients and their families.
