Summary/Abstract: The issue of innovation in the context of business models can be seen through innovative business models themselves, or treat the business model as a driving force behind innovation activity of enterprises. In the second aspect, it must be noted that business model, which acts as a stimulus for innovation, should be strengthened in such a way that it has the ability to incorporate ideas, concepts and other incentives from the environment. One aspect of this approach is the use of inter-organizational relationships supporting the functioning of business model. This article takes the issue of inter-organizational relationships supporting individual components within a business model and their impact on business innovation. Therefore, the research objective is to diagnose the relationship between generic diversification of partners of inter-organizational relationships, and its impact on enterprises innovation. As a result of the study, the existence of relationship between the partners diversification and innovativeness of enterprises can be stated. It can also be stated that the ability to create and maintain relationships with a diversified generically partners (eg. customers, suppliers, competitors, and other institutions), fosters innovation activity of enterprises.
