Summary/Abstract: Students of the Croatian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education in Osijek are offered the elective course in the Slovakian Language. The aim of this paper is to highlight the differences and similarities between Croatian and Slovakian. The paper discusses the differences pertaining to the alphabet, signs, vowels, consonants and unstressed syllable.
