Summary/Abstract: The paper is of empirical character and it is an attempt to assess the impact of the ability to acquire new technologies of Polish enterprises oprating in the financial sector on their market competitive advantages. In order to assess this impact, the author identifies correlation coefficients between the level of aforementined ability development (both concerning the aggregated approach and particular components of such an ability) and the level of the competitive advantage. The research findings presented in the paper prove above mentioned relation, although its power seems to be rather moderate. This means that further development of the ability to acquire new technologies will not result in the radical increase of enterprises market competitive advntages.
