GEOPOLITICAL POSITION OF SLOVAKIA

Summary/Abstract: From the perspective of small states geostrategy is the basis of their foreign policies, which should take into account the geopolitical environment. This environment is subjected to change due to the formation of powers, their strengthening or fall. Small states must respond to all such geopolitical changes. This paper presents the geopolitical position of Slovakia, its unique geostrategic features in comparison to the neighboring countries and the wider geopolitical environment. The geopolitical context of the process of integration of Slovakia in the framework of Western structures was also briefly characterized.
