Field Trip as an Alternative to Transmission Education

Summary/Abstract: The main area of considerations of the author is focused on fieldwork activities organised byschools under ministerial orders. Learning outside the classroom can encompass didactic fieldtrips. On the basis of the author’s empirical research, the correlation between a subject to be taughtand frequency of the didactic field trips is presented by the author. The most frequently visitedplaces by students are also described. Moreover, the trips are analysed both with regard to their durationsand an exploration of the places. The author articulates learning teaching goals, educationalgoals, as well as recreational health goals of the didactic field trips as a valuable source ofknowledge and, above all, an antidote to school boredom.
