Responsibility of teachers in legal and ethical context

Summary/Abstract: The teacher’s responsibility in the context of legal regulations and in teaching practice has become the basis for the author’s reflections. Taking the first element into account, employee, civil, disciplinary and criminal responsibility has been discussed. With reference to pedagogical responsibility, there has been undertaken a detailed analysis of types of responsibility as well as spheres that the teacher is responsible for. Responsibility is seen as a value consisting of a number of ethical virtues. They concern a situation of carrying out and taking up responsibility as well as undertaking responsible action. Deliberations are summed up by a final author’s reflection
