Motivations and Ways of Making Career Decisions among Upper Secondary School Students in the Częstochowa Region

Summary/Abstract: Dynamic changes in the labour market, a shortage of workers in certain occupations with surplusesin others and the especially high unemployment rate amongst young people are the new challenges facing the professional counselor today. This article presents the results of a research study in preparingyoung people to make decisions about their choice of further education or future career oroccupation. The results of this study can be used to analyze the attitudes, factors and conditions taken by high school students regarding their future and the role of vocational counseling in thisprocess.
