Summary/Abstract: The article is an analysis of geopolitical units of a specific type, as they are called unacknowledged state (also called quasi-states). The analysis was carried out on the basis of a casus Northern Cyprus - territory, which in practice operates continuously for over 30 years. Author evaluated the potential of demographic, economic and military units, confronting him at the same time the potential of the home country,ie. Republic of Cyprus. Particular attention was also devoted to quasi-state relations with Turkey plays the role of a kind of protector.
