Summary/Abstract: The present article offers a brief overview on the main reasons of the use of aglicisms in German and Romanian youth language. The foreign influences upon historical languages as German and Romanian are totally natural. Therefore the motives are many and varied, but aspects concerning urban youth culture where English is to a great extent dominant or the fact that this language is for the adolescents and not only for them the modern lingua franca are only some to be taken into consideration.
