The (un)told old age in the late works of Julia Hartwig

Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article is to trace the theme of old age in the late works of Julia Hartwig. The starting point is the reference to the research work taking about old age, the topos of the Old Poet and the figure of the Old Poetess. The purpose of this article is to look for answers to the following questions: is the diary similar to the poems by Julia Hartwig? Can it show the other face of the Julia Hartwig? Does the diary reveal a personal perspective, claimed by many scholars to be absent in her poetry? Finally, how does the image of old age in the diary of Julia Hartwig look in comparison toother Polish women’ diaries?
