Summary/Abstract: Contemporary Polish Theater of the beginning of the 21st century, more or less, refers to the tradition of German political theater and the recent post-dramatic theater tradition. Brecht is always in the background, with his output corresponding to the poetics of the political theatre, as well the post-dramatic theatre. Polish theater of the period following 1989 reaches rarly, however, the works of the The Threepenny Opera author. In consequence, the attempts at staging Brecht’s play by Polish directors in Brelin seem all the more bold. The primary focus of this paper is post-dramatic Theatre “recycled” by polish contemporary directors.
