Social Exclusion of Roma during the Post-Communist Period

Summary/Abstract: Abstract The article presents an analysis of the changes in the Roma’s socio-cultural status during the post-communist period. It is disclosed how social exclusion of the Roma ethnic community took place in all major social spheres during the whole period. Spatial and social isolation of the Roma in relation to the rest of the Bulgarian citizens are presented and the concomitant risks of both types of isolation and exclusion.
