Emotional dysregulation – factor structure and consistency in the Romanian version of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS)

Summary/Abstract: Certain issues related to emotional regulation have retained the interest of researchers and practitioners due to their relevance for general well-being, average daily problems and some psychopathological conditions. A young community of people aged between 20 and 27 responded to the DERS (Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale) (Gratz & Roemer, 2004). Factor analysis results show that at least six factors are loaded into a structure and that the proper indices are satisfied. The internal consistencies of the subscales are good and a few comments are made when considering the Romanian version of the scale. Overall analyses support the adaptation and validation of the scale and suggest that it can be used in further research.
