Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to discuss the most valuable military-related collections held in military libraries in Poland and in the world. The article will present the history of the Marshal Piłsudski Central Military Library in Warsaw (henceforth referred to as CBW) in the context of the most valuable collections associated with the Polish army and the broadly conceived military sciences that were gathered during the period of more than ninety years. The further part of the article provides a few examples to present the collections of military libraries (with particular reference to special collections), functioning all over the world. The final part of the article will discuss the activities of the digital military libraries.
