Summary/Abstract: Taking into consideration the numerous teaching activities that can be developed on various types of business letters, they can be considered an important mean for language acquisition. The present paper consists of a brief theoretical classification of the Italian business letters, a description of their characteristics, terminology and specific lexical, morphological and syntactic choices. Two business letters, and a lesson built around their content, with various educational activities, as well as their difficulties will also be described and presented. The lesson is built according to the parts of a lesson indicated by Diadori (2007: 306): motivation, globality, analysis, synthesis, reflection and action or reinforcement.
