The Educational System in Bulgaria for IT Society Human Support

Summary/Abstract: The report presents how the education system in Bulgaria answers the information society needs - from primary school to university as well as development of talented pupils. Some socioeconomic indicators are given as a background of the human resources development, as well as provision with computer equipment, usage of computers, networks and computer technologies in companies and households. How computer education is involved in school curricula and what are the main topics for the compulsory education are also described here. Some statistical data is given about the school equipment. An attempt is made to present the Bulgarian higher education on related field through bachelor and master programs. The work with talented pupils is described in the end. Thus the report draws how Bulgarian education works to prepare people with a wide range of computer knowledge and skills needed for users and professionals in the modern society.
