„Wiadomości Fary Św. Barbary” – the Weekly of the Saint Barbara Parish in Chorzów

Summary/Abstract: The rapid growth of Catholic publications, among them the parish press, took place in Poland after 1989. Numerous new titles published by various parishes emerged in Archdiocese of Katowice. In the 1990s each parish community in deanery of Chorzów was editing its own periodical. „Wiadomości Fary św. Barbary” published by the Saint Barbara Parish in Chorzów since 1995 distinguishes itself by size and variety of content. In the article the origins and development of the weekly were described. The technical and content analysis of published materials was carried out as well.
