The Catalogue of PhD Theses and Habilitation Dissertations about Church Libraries in Poland for the Years 1952-2012

Summary/Abstract: In Poland, church libraries play an important role in the evangelization of the universal Church. The presented catalogue includes six habilitation dissertations and fifty seven PhD theses. The subject of interest were different types of libraries: chapter, cathedral, collegiate, parish, seminaries, of academic institutions, religious orders and congregations of men and women as well as clergy private collections and various library resources. The issuing bodies of the dissertations were nineteen faculties and thirteen higher education institutions. The doctoral advisors were thirty eight professors including fourteen clergymen and twenty four secular.
