Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper was to evaluate a sportperson’s (Polish National Team in breaststroke swimming) body posture regarding spine position. A study of somatic characteristics has been carried out (height, body weight and BMI index) and have been compared with Dziecko Krakowskie. Medi-Mouse, which enables to analyse body posture, namely spine, in a non-invasive manner that is safe both to patients and medical personnel, has been used to assess spine and body posture. The results are very accurate and thanks to rapid image transmission to computer software, data analysis has been carried out immediately after test performance. On the basis of the conducted studies and the results analysis, it was stated that the level of the basic somatic characteristics that is, height and weight, as well as the BMI index of the swimmers is at a higher level than in peers who do not practice this sport. There are left-sided deviations of the spine from the anatomical axis in the frontal plane and hypermobility in parts of spine segments in the tested. The scope of the spine mobility at both planes in swimmers is at a very good level.
