Summary/Abstract: Various tourism competitiveness models have been developed in order to analyze the factors which influence the competitive capacity in the tourism sector and to detect the competitiveness levels in the international tourism market. Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) is a model which has been developed by World Economic Forum (WEF) first in 2007 and has been updated in 2015 in order to measure and evaluate the competitive capacity of the Travel and Tourism Sector. The competitive powers of 141 countries in travel and tourism sector have been analyzed and ranked according to four main, 14 sub-indexes and 84 related criterion. In this study, whether or not, there exists a statistical correlation between the factors used for sorting the travel and tourism sector competitiveness, and the economic impact of tourism in these countries has been scrutinized. In light of the assessments, the factors included in the travel and tourism sector competitiveness index can be seen to have a positive influence on the tourist arrivals of countries.
