Summary/Abstract: In this article we deal with a fortuitous discovery made in Fârţăneşti, during some works for arranging the courtyard. On this occasion, an inhumation grave was discovered. It preserved a small quantity of human bones and one or two fragments of animal bones (sheep – Ovis aries). The funerary inventory consisted of two items of pottery and a fragment of pottery, probably belonging to an ear. According to the testimony of the discoverer, the inventory also consisted of a small green glass bead that was lost and of a metallic fragment, maybe from a sword, which was impossible to recover due to its poor state of preservation. In the same area, two decades ago, a kiln was found. It contained, between the two burning chambers, 12 pots that had the role of regulating the circulation of the heat. We consider that this discovery revealed only a part from an ancient settlement and that the funerary finds are related to it.
