The Rate of Development of ICT in Poland and a Synthetic Evaluation of the Distance of Polandfrom European Union Countries in the Use of Information Technology

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to analyze the dynamics of development of the information society in Poland in the years 2004–2013, and to rate Poland’s position against the EU in the use of ICT in households, among individuals and enterprises. The study sought to answer the question as to whether the Polish position in terms of building the information society has changed significantly over the past 10 years. The most recent statistics on various aspects of the information society in the European Union were presented. Of the many methods of multivariate analysis, a positional method based on the median was used.
