Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author uses blog as an illustrative example to analyze the far-reaching changes brought about by the Internet. These changes take place not only in the mind and cultural habits of modern person, but also in his/her view of the world. The internet is the culmination and conclusion of a process which started in the early 20th century when books started to give place to visual media. However, while books had been dominant for several centuries, the domination of TV and movies is, according to the author, about to end, since unlike them, Internet technologies enables once unseen kinds of interactivity and breaks the boundaries between the protagonist and his/her audience, that is, between the ‘creator’ and ‘consumers’ of events. The price one has to pay is ‘microscopization’ of the world, disappearance of attitude toward the whole, loss of authority and lack of desire for self-improvement.
