Social Subjectivity of a Child – The Development of Children’s Citizenship Idea

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an idea of children’s citizenship as a contemporary developing topic in a discurs on childhood and child protection and child upbringing. It presents both roots of the concept of a child as a citizen that can be located in ideas and the pedagogical activity of Janusz Korczak, and contemporary directions of the discurs on child citizenship. Particular attention is paid on the nowadays’ content of child citizenship – which in a great part is understood as wide child social participation and in this light is promoted politically (on an international level) as a fundamental direction of social development.
