Summary/Abstract: We have tried to present in this article the history of the relationships between the Romanian Principalities and the Xenofon Monastery at Mount Athos, from the beginning of the 16th century to the impropriation of monasteries’ fortunes. This history is based upon Romanian documents from the monastery’s archive et upon other historical testimonies or „traces” of aids offered by Romanians to Xenofon Monastery (votive pictures, manuscripts, church clothes). A consistent part of these documents regards the history of Roaba Monastery, Dolj county.
