Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the presence of the name „Olza” in the naming landscape of Silesia. The author discusses the etymology of a given name and excerpts linguist statements about its origin and the spelling, as well as statements on the Internet forums. Furthermore, the author briefly reviews the literature, which refers to the river. Olza is widely present in popular culture, becoming a constant part of the Silesian naming landscape. From the name of the river are called i.a. associations, travel agencies, holiday homes, dining facilities, sports clubs, and artistic groups
