TERRITORIAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE POPULATION INHABITED BULGARIAN BLACK SEA COAST DURING THE 19TH CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: This article treats the problems of the settlement strructure and the territorial disposition of the population inhabited in the lands of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The analysis enables to make some basic conclusions. 1. On the territory of the Bulgarian Black Sea predominate the small settlements with population up to 499 people. 2. The number of settlements in both (North and South) of the studied region almost equal, but in the North Black sea they are more populous. 3. In the Bulgarian Black Sea there is high population density, compared with other parts of the Bulgarian lands. 4.The studied territory is highly urbanised. There are 9 settlements with statute of cities and in there lives almost 80% of the population in the region.
