CU PRIVIRE LA LOCUIREA NEOLITICA DE LA PETRESTI-GROAPA GALBENA
WITH REGARD TO THE NEOLITHIC HABITATION FROM PETRESTI-GROAPA GALBENA

Summary/Abstract: Pottery material of the known Neolithic settlement from Petresti-Groapa Galbena (Alba County) is preserved at the archaeological deposits of the National Museum of Union, Alba Iulia, as a result of the taking over of some private collections. The present study aims at the introduction in the scientific circuit of a lot of pottery artefacts – still unknown today – from the K. Haldenwang and I. Raica collections that we ascribe to the Turdas culture and Foeni group bearers, taking into account the manufacturing technique and the typological, stylistical characteristics. The importance of the pottery material that we introduce into the scientific circuit lies precisely in the fact that they support the possibility of a new scheme of the Late Neolithic and the Early Aeneolithic in the middle Mures basin, in which a direct and significant role for the Petresti culture birth is assigned to the Foeni group bearer tribes of Southern origin.
