Marking of Tombs and Customs Related to the Phenomenon of Transition in the Ancient Cemetery of “Phoenikia”, Lagonisi, eastern Attica, Greece

Summary/Abstract: In this paper new data are presented from the continuation of the rescue excavations in the area of the ancient cemetery of Lagonisi and the study of the finds (VIIIth to IVth c. BC). They are related to the way of “marking” the tombs and also to habits, recorded in the cemetery, which seem to be associated with “preventing” or “facilitating” the “transition”, as death is considered a “transition phenomenon”.
