About religious lexis of contemporary Russian language in linguistic research

Summary/Abstract: The Bible has attracted the attention of researchers of various specialties for a long time. It is an endless source of themes closely associated with the Christian European culture – its cultural importance is not to undermine. Expressions taken from the Bible appear in various forms of linguistic communication, in press releases, literary works or oral speech. In the Russian modern linguistics there are different semantic and semantic – etymological proposals to classify the religious lexis and idioms of biblical origin. They all refer to the source text – the Bible, because without these references the semantic analysis of the lexis of the biblical genesis in the modern Russian language would not be possible.
