Summary/Abstract: History of the State Archives of Styria, which with its 63,000 meters of shelf is largest of all Austrian provincial archives, shows that from the very beginning of the presentation of results Investigations is not limited to the narrow space of experts. Exact and strong scientific and research activity will continue to have to remain a conditio sine qua non, because the National Archives wants to maintain its position as the first provincial research institutions.
