Summary/Abstract: Neformaliuoju ir savaiminiu būdu įgytų mokymosi pasiekimų vertinimas ir pripažinimas nėra plačiai išvystyti ir taikomi. Trūksta šios srities teorinių metodologinių tyrinėjimų ir konkrečių praktinių rekomendacijų. Systematic analysis of foreign countries’ experience in the assessment and recognition of the learning outcomes acquired through non-formal and informal learning can provide useful and important information for the designing and implementation of the system for the assessment and recognition of the non-formal and informal learning in Lithuania. The aim of the article is to compare the experience of foreign countries (Finland, Norway, Sweden, France) in assessing and acknowledging learning outcomes acquired through non-formal and informal learning, while seeking to establish the potential sources of policy learning in this field. The article defines the notion of assessment and acknowledgment of achievements acquired through non-formal and informal learning, compares the causes, preconditions and objectives for the appearing of assessment and acknowledgment of achievements, acquired through non-formal and informal learning, compares the institutions performing the assessment and acknowledgment of learning outcomes acquired through non-formal and informal learning and their applied methods of assessment.
