Summary/Abstract: The article presents Big Data as a procedure of gathering, storing and using in business enterprises (especially in the sector of financial markets) quickly growing sets of data, which come from various places within an organisation and from other sources, among other things from social media. The article treats with both the advantages and the threats and restrictions resulting from processing and marketing big data volumes. The author strives to prove the necessity of transforming the organisational culture in the context of new technologies and procedures of Big Data. The descriptions and analyses included in the article are an attempt to show social and organisational aspects of Big Data and a proposal of a model of transforming organisational culture in which the impact of technologically advanced procedures of that type are taken into consideration.
