Summary/Abstract: The article explores the various outcomes from the integration of Facebook in the academic life of students. We question the role of Facebook as a tool for engaging students in curricular and extra-curricular tasks that complement their routine everyday online activities with useful academic information and additional study materials. As Facebook student groups are popular in some universities in Bulgaria we present the lecturer’s opinion on the outcomes from the integration of the Facebook student groups in the academic life of students. Facebook is considered as a complementary tool for innovative educational practices that could provide sustainable improvement of student’s academic involvement.
