Summary/Abstract: The paper describes the handwritten periodical Rovovac, a comic periodical from the trenches, written by Stanislav Krakov during the Battle of Kaymakchalan and preserved in the National Library of Serbia. Similar to its author, Rovovac appears to be unrestrained, dishevelled, jocular, ordinary. However, when we delve a little deeper into its secrets, we begin to discover its subtlety, beauty, mystery, complexity.In order to understand Rovovac better, we have to decipher it in many written reminders of the Great War, and not limit ourselves to merely reading its pages.
