Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the motifs inspired by the Chinese culture in Franz Kafka’s work.The main part is devoted to the interpretation of the short story The Great Wall of China,written by Kafka in the turbulent year of 1917, the year of World War and the revolution.However, the author also refers to the current international research literature to demonstratethat the Chinese inspirations of the writer from Prague are widely reflected in his othertexts and biographical testimonies.
