Methodological Proposals for the Restoration of Icons Painted on Glass. Case Studies: Icons from Laz

Summary/Abstract: The authors of this article wanted to highlight the methodology of the restoration of icons painted on glass, by means five icons of Laz. They focused on five objects from the second half of the 19th century. They came to the workshop presenting numerous degradations. It was necessary to intervene at the level of the base; it was also necessary to consolidate and to integrate the color pellicles. The methodology has closely followed the principles of restoration.
