Summary/Abstract: Jan Zelenka, code name Hajský, was one of the most important figures in the Czech resistance in the Protectorate period. With roots in the Sokol movement, he held firm Czech national positions and from the moment of occupation devoted all of his energies to organising Sokol resistance activities. When the first parachute units began landing he helped them f ind accommodation, food, documents, contacts and information. It was in this way that he came to work with Jan Kubiš, Josef Gabčík and the other paratroopers who took part in the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. Indeed, his assistance was key to the mission’s success.
