Summary/Abstract: The renunciation of inheritance is a common instrument of the preventive administration of justice. It enables the undivided transfer mortis causa of a greater fortune to a single legal successor. Also, as a consequence the admission of the renunciation of inheritance declared before the death of the testator has a big social relevance. This article intends to demonstrate the legal political as well as the dogmatic development of the renunciation of inheritance.
