Summary/Abstract: In the reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seen and known thanks to the memories of others, presented as shared memory, in the section related to science and culture as the general framework, it is difficult to find an example of such dedication to the quest for scientific knowledge as seen in the work of Professor Đenana Buturović, Ph.D., the long-serving scientific advisor and director of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A scholar and theoretician of oral literature, particularly of epic poetry, whose Bosniak contribution to the South Slavic region she examined ever so thoroughly and comprehensively, her achievements are deeply respected and admired by experts – Đenana Buturović was equally reliable in different aspects of oral literature, touching upon folklore, ethnology, cultural anthropology.
