Summary/Abstract: The Hungarian legislation was able to concentrate its powers on modernizing the organizational system of the state and forming the burgeouis state after the Compromise. It was at that period when an increased demand for the uniform settlement of the situation of civil servants and for the creation of „közszolgálati pragmatika” (service pragmatics) arose. As a result of the government’s efforts to settle the issue several proposals were created, none of which were finally discussed by the National Assembly. In my paper I would like to demonstrate the efforts made in Hungary to create uniform regulation on civil servants at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century based on legal literature and National Assembly transcripts.
