Summary/Abstract: The external service is a specific form of cooperation between archives and registry or holders of current records. It represents a link between these two entities. The activities carried out service should provide complete protection records in the possession of holders. The external service must use all legal mechanisms in order to prevent destruction, alienation and some other form of disappearance of current records. In addition to the external service, which is a key factor, the holders themselves are important, even indispensable, factor in the system of protection of registry materials. In order to improve the quality of care records in the possession of holders, it is necessary to numerically improve staffing of the External service. And employees, who work in dealings with records must have the appropriate professional titles and qualifications. The ultimate goal of protecting records in possession of the holder is contained in the fact that the archive takes complete, arranged, selected and listed records as a result of a job well done by the external service.
