Spatial mobility of older people - the current state of research

Summary/Abstract: The term of spatial mobility applies to all age groups of the population. Among researchers there is a lively debate about migration of older people caused by still progressive problem of aging. The article brings up the problem of spatial mobility in old polish and oversees research. Population of elderly people divi-des into three subpopulations: young seniors, older seniors, the oldest seniors. Motives, migratory patterns and socio-economic features are different in every group. Author presents research results concerning senior migration in therms of theoretical conceptions, reasons, direction and socio-economic structures.
