Summary/Abstract: This article is an attempt to present the suicide as a fact of the political reality. Unlike the individual or psychological perspective towards the self-destruction a claim is made that the suicide might be politically motivated and socially constructed phenomenon. In this respect, both the voluntary death as a political demonstration and the political and social dimensions of the suicide as such are discussed. Key concepts characteristic for the philosophy of politics’ discourse like „power“, „interaction between the individuals within society“, „identity“, „human rights“, and „civil society“ are elaborated in the article. In addition, several kinds of suicidal practices are differentiated based on two manifestations of the relationship between the individual and society (identification with or exclusion of the „other“).
