Summary/Abstract: Research of amphibians and reptiles of Imotsko polje (Imotski eld) and its surroundings,including aquatic habitats of Vrljika River and Prološko blato Lake, was carried out on several occasions in the period from 2009 to 2014, and the presence of 20 species was recorded. Of this number, there were 7 species of amphibians – (Proteus anguinus Laurenti, 1768, Lissotriton vulgaris (Linnaeus, 1758), Salamandra salamandra (Linnaeus, 1758), Bufo bufo (Linnaeus,1758), Hyla arborea (Linnaeus, 1758), Pelophylax ridibundus (Pallas, 1771), Rana dalmatinaFitzinger in Bonaparte, 1838) – and 13 species of reptiles – (Pseudopus apodus (Pallas,1775), Lacerta trilineata Bedriaga, 1866, Podarcis melisellensis (Braun, 1877), Podarcis siculus(Ranesque, 1810), Coronella austriaca Laurenti, 1768, Hierophis gemonensis (Laurenti,1768), Platyceps najadum (Eichwald, 1831), Telescopus fallax (Fleischmann, 1831), Zamenislongissimus (Laurenti, 1768), Natrix natrix (Linnaeus, 1758), Natrix tessellata (Laurenti, 1768),Malpolon insignitus (Geothroy Saint-Hilaire, 1827), Vipera ammodytes (Linnaeus, 1758). Of the 20 species recorded, three (3) of them are located in the Red Book of amphibians and reptiles of Croatia: Proteus anguinus in the category critically endangered species (CR), while Podarcis melisellensis and Podarcis siculus in the category least concern species (LC).
